Job summary

Aspire People are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse needs at a Meldreth area school. The role is a supply position with potential to become permanent, working 8:30am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday, on site. A DBS check (Enhanced Child and Adult) already in update service is required.

You will support learning activities, help pupils develop confidence and social skills, and collaborate with teachers to tailor learning experiences to individual needs.

Qualifications

• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the update service.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with a range of needs (including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties).
• Assisting the class teacher with engaging, personalised learning activities.
• Encouraging pupil confidence, independence and social skills.
• Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies and individual care plans.
• Providing support during lessons, breaktimes and activities.
• Preparing classroom resources and materials.
• Monitoring and recording pupils' progress and achievements.
• Collaborating with teachers, parents/carers and professionals to support pupils.
