Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist team in Royston/Meldreth area, Hertfordshire. The role is full-time, term-time only, with a 40-hour week and a daily rate of £100–£115.

You will support students with diverse learning needs, work alongside teachers and therapists, and promote inclusive, safe learning environments. A rewarding chance to develop in education and related services.

Qualifications

  • Must have Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Experience in SEN, education, care, or youth work preferred.
  • Willing to undertake funded training and qualifications.
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Support students' learning across the curriculum.
  • Assist in classrooms, around the school and local community.
  • Help develop confidence, communication, and independence.
  • Provide personal care and physical support where required.
  • Promote inclusion, equality and positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.

SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: 100-115 per day.

Location: Royston / Meldreth, Hertfordshire

Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm)

Contract: Temporary-to-Permanent

We are a highly specialist independent day school supporting students aged 6-19 with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD & SLD)

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping students learn, develop independence, and achieve their personal goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students' learning and development across the curriculum
  • Assisting students in the classroom, around the school, and within the local community
  • Helping students build confidence, communication skills, and independence
  • Supporting children and young people with a wide range of learning, sensory, physical, and medical needs
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver high-quality support
  • Promoting inclusion, equality, and positive outcomes for every student
  • Providing personal care and physical support where required
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Contributing to a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
