Veolia Greenwich site is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee waste operations at HWRC, Transfer Station and RDF. You will supervise a team, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain safe, efficient site performance.

The role requires health and safety focus, supervisory experience, and knowledge of waste treatment processes. 4 days on, 2 days off, 07:00–17:30 shifts, with Veolia benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Health and Safety knowledge and experience.
• Supervisory experience.
• Environmental knowledge and experience.
• Yellow plant experience (shovel, 360).
• Desirable: CoTC in Waste Management Operations.
• Desirable: IOSH.
• Desirable: First Aid Trained.
• Desirable: Experience in waste management supervisory role with treatment processes (RDF/MRF/PRF/MBT).

Responsabilités

• Ensure operations are in compliance with the EA Permit conditions.
• Supervise waste operations at HWRC, Transfer Station and RDF.
• Supervise at least 18 staff across RDF, HWRC and Transfer Station.
• Ensure site has competent operational staff.
• Lead and train by example on site.
• Act as deputy for Operations Manager during leave or absence.
• Maintain clear communication between team members.
• Build relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Ensure staff training and identify further training needs.
• Maximise use of fixed and mobile plant on site.
• Promote recycling and recovery of materials at HWRC/Transfer Stations.
• Report any defects or damages promptly.

Salary - Up to £42,000 * plus Veolia benefits

Location - Veolia Greenwich IWF, Nathan Way, Plumstead Marsh, Thamesmead, London, SE28 0AF

Hours - Shift 4 days on 2 days off, 07:00 to 17:30

• Ensure any defects or damages are reported.

What we are looking for;

Essential:

• Health and Safety Knowledge and Experience.
• Supervisory experience.
• Environmental Knowledge and Experience.
• Yellow Plant experience (shovel, 360)

Desirable:

• CoTC (Certificate of Technical Competence) in Waste Management Operations.
• IOSH.
• First Aid Trained.
• Experience within the waste management industry in a supervisory role, with particular experience of treatment processes, (RDF/MRF/PRF/MBT).
