Job summary

Cancer Research UK is seeking a retail store assistant to manage the Cromer shop on Sundays, with keyholder responsibilities and support from a team of volunteers. You will focus on delivering excellent customer service, processing donations and stock, and helping to achieve fundraising goals.

In this lively environment you’ll engage with customers, develop relationships, and contribute to a generous benefits package. DBS checks apply; must be eligible to work in the UK and be 18+.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high-quality customer service in a busy retail setting.
• Ability to thrive in a lively, ever-changing environment.
• Flexibility to work Sundays and independently when required.
• Good commercial awareness and ability to spot opportunities to support fundraising.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with volunteers and customers.
• Understanding of retail/fashion trends is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the shop on Sundays with keyholder responsibilities (training provided).
• Support a diverse team of volunteers to achieve sales and fundraising targets.
• Review and process donated goods and new stock.
• Generate ideas to create new income streams under guidance from the Shop Manager.
• Use customer service skills to ensure customers feel welcome and valued.
• Maintain shop standards including safeguarding, compliance and health & safety.
