Job summary

Leonardo in Newcastle is offering a 13-week Summer Placement for a Mechanical Engineer. You will work within an Integrated Project Team to contribute to the development and delivery of Laser and LDEW products, undertaking design work, stress analysis, and problem solving across the product lifecycle.

You will receive tailored training, be assigned a specific project task with senior support, and gain hands-on industry experience applying your degree studies and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled on a Bachelors/Integrated Masters degree in an IMechE accredited course.
• Relevant Mechanical engineering work experience such as summer placements or internships.
• Experience with technical writing and project planning.
• Strong analytical, modelling skills and laboratory skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute directly to development and delivery of Laser and LDEW products as a member of an IPT.
• Receive training in role-specific technical skills and awareness sessions.
• Take responsibility for delivering a defined project task with senior support.
• Apply degree-derived technical and soft skills in industry.
