Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Edinburgh is offering a 13‑week Summer Placement for a Test Systems Engineer. You’ll work on real‑world projects, apply your electronics and systems knowledge, and learn through hands‑on design, testing, qualification, and technology support.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, receive coaching from an experienced supervisor, and have the chance to continue into future placements or our Graduate Development Programme.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for a Bachelor’s/Integrated Master’s degree, or higher degree, such as MSc or PhD.
• Acceptable degree disciplines include Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Design, Product Design Engineering, Communications Engineering, Engineering Physics, Applied Physics & Engineering Science.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal; ability to solve technical problems; self-motivated and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of small packages of work to time, cost, and quality.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines to help project targets and solve problems.
• Apply your academic knowledge to real projects, including design, testing, qualification and/or technology support.
• Share ideas and communicate with your team to share knowledge and gain insight into the Business.
• Develop your skills with the guidance of an experienced supervisor and the wider engineering community.
