Job summary

Leonardo Basildon is offering an Industrial Placement for Mechanical Engineering students. You will work on real projects, developing mechanical designs and supporting lifecycle activities across project teams. Exposure to 3D CAD, GD&T and BS8888 documentation is included, with a focus on cost and schedule.

The placement provides coaching and a path to a potential graduate role. You will spend a minimum of three days per week on site, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong CAD and analysis tool experience.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to mechanical design and development.
• Work within the project team to deliver outputs on time and within budget.
• Support reviews and liaise with systems, electrical, quality and production teams.
• Perform hands-on mechanical design using 3D CAD and analysis tools.
• Create documentation in line with BS8888 and manage design documentation.
