Job summary

Kier Group is offering a Summer Placement Civil Engineer to join the Infrastructure team in Falmer, East Sussex, working within Water on the Southern Water framework. The role includes hands-on experience and mentorship to develop essential engineering and surveying skills.

The 8-week placement starts July 2027, with exposure to planning, design, and on-site activities, plus the preparation of reports and documentation to support project progress.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree or related field and returning to university after placement.
• Interest in civil engineering and the construction industry.
• Full UK driving license.
• Strong analytical and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, execution, and management of projects relevant to your field of study.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support project objectives.
• Conduct research and analysis to inform project decisions and strategies.
• Prepare reports, presentations and documentation related to project activities.
