Job summary

Kier Group in Falmer, East Sussex, is offering a Summer Placement Mechanical Engineer to join the Infrastructure team. You will work on projects for the Southern Water framework across East Sussex.

Starting July 2027, the 8-week, 40-hour per week placement includes a starting salary of £27,976 per annum and will provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to mechanical design, development and implementation.

Qualifications

• Studying Mechanical Engineering or related field and returning to university after placement.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of mechanical systems for projects.
• Support preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specs and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
