Job summary

AMD Hardware internship in Edinburgh, UK. You will join the hardware engineering team and contribute to discrete and embedded hardware projects during the term.

You will learn DSP algorithms, digital logic design, RTL/Verilog, and FPGA tools (Xilinx Vivado/SDK) while receiving mentorship and hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a UK university degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of DSP algorithms and advanced communications standards.
• Digital logic design, RTL coding and verification.
• High-level programming languages (Python, Java, C) or HDL (Verilog).
• Familiarity with Xilinx Vivado and SDK and with 3rd party logic simulators.
• Familiarity with RTL Development in VHDL or Verilog.
• Familiarity with digital circuit design and testing using simulation tools.
• Familiarity with AMD-Xilinx FPGAs and system design tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineers and be responsible for AMD's discrete and embedded hardware products.
• Assist in building applications for external and internal use and large-scale systems to improve efficiency of the Hardware organization.

• Onsite: This role requires the student to work full time either onsite throughout the duration of the intern term.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• You will collaborate with Engineers and be responsible for some of AMD's discrete and embedded hardware products
• We will train you to build applications for external and internal use as well as large
  scale systems that improve the efficiency of AMD Hardware organization

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

You are currently enrolled in a UK based University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field

• If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to
  • Experience/Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing Algorithms and Advanced Communications Standards.
  • Digital logic design, RTL coding and verification.
  • High-level language programming and scripting (Python, Java, C, etc. ) or HDL (Verilog)
  • Familiarity with Xilinx Vivadoand SDK as well as 3rd party logic simulator
  • Familiarity with RTL (Register Transfer Level) Development VHDL or Verilog
  • Familiarity with digital circuit design and testing using simulation tools
  • Familiarity with AMD-Xilinx FPGAs and system design tools
