Job summary

AMD invites students in the UK to join our Hardware Engineering intern/co-op program in Cambridge. You will work with engineers on discrete and embedded hardware projects and gain hands-on experience building applications for hardware systems.

We value candidates pursuing Electrical or Computer Engineering degrees, with knowledge in logic design, scripting, CPU/GPU architecture, and Verilog/VHDL. This internship offers mentorship, networking, and real-world impact during the term.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a UK-based degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Knowledge of digital and/or analog logic design and optimization.
• Experience with scripting languages (C/C++, TCL, Perl, Python, Java, Ruby).
• Understanding of CPU & GPU architectures.
• Familiarity with Verilog or VHDL.
• Awareness of ASIC design and verification.
• Interest in hardware automation, validation and testing.

JOB DETAILS:

• Location: Cambridge, UK
• Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time either in a hybrid or onsite throughout the duration of the intern term.
• Start date: July 1 to September 24 2027

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Do you want to help improve experiences of groundbreaking AMD products? If so, AMD Hardware team is the right place for you. We are seeking a highly motivated Hardware Engineering intern/co-op and in this role:

• You will collaborate with Engineers and be responsible for some of AMD's discrete and embedded hardware products
• We will train you to build applications for external and internal use as well as large scale systems that improve the efficiency of AMD Hardware organization

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

You are currently enrolled in a UK based University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a relatedfield

• If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply
  • Experience/Knowledge of Digital and/or analog Logic Design and Optimization
  • Scripting languages such as C/C++, TCL, Perl, Python, Java, Ruby
  • Computer architecture, CPU & GPUarchitecture.
