Job Introduction

Job DescriptionHealthy outcomes start with positive patient experiences. 7.5 hours per week, shifts 06:00 – 22:00. Royal Stoke Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and produce Sub‑way food daily in line with brand specifications and food safety standards.
  • Receive, check, store and rotate stock correctly to minimise waste and ensure product quality.
  • Maintain high standards of food storage, preparation, hygiene and uniform compliance.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for staff and guests in line with health, safety and training requirements.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, promote Sub‑way and Sodexo brands and support positive survey results.
  • Operate and declare the till accurately, capturing all revenue and completing daily bread counts.
  • Stay informed on promotions, maintain appropriate stock levels and upsell products following Sub‑way University training.
  • Complete required training, appraisals, competency checks and carry out additional duties to support smooth operations.
Qualifications
  • Previous food preparation and customer service experience, ideally within a fast‑paced or Sub‑way environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2 Food Safety desirable) with good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong time management, organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Self‑motivated, positive attitude to learning and able to work effectively as part of a team.
