Job summary

SkyBlue Solutions is recruiting a Substation Supervisor for a Lochgilphead project. The role involves supervising HV substation installation and coordinating site teams on a 60-day contract from 02/11/2026 to 31/12/2026. Competitive rate of £36.00 per hour PAYE, with Monday–Friday 07:30–18:00 working hours.

Responsibilities include safety-first supervision, coordinating subcontractors, delivering toolbox talks, and liaising with management and client representatives to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• HV substation projects experience (11kV-400kV) required.
• SSSTS certification required.
• EUSR Utility SHEA Power certification required.
• Fire Marshal Certificate required.
• Strong health and safety knowledge in power sector.

Rate: £36.00 per hour PAYE

Hours: 07:30 - 18:00 (Monday to Friday)

Our client, a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major power and energy projects across the UK, is currently seeking an experienced

Substation Supervisor to join a project based in Lochgilphead.

SSE authorisations are not required; however, candidates must have previous HV substation experience and experience supervising teams on power infrastructure projects.

As a Substation Supervisor, your duties will include:

• Supervising and coordinating HV substation installation and construction activities
• Managing site operatives and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently
• Delivering site briefings and toolbox talks
• Monitoring site progress and maintaining high standards of workmanship
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements
• Liaising with project management, engineers and client representatives
• Supporting the planning and coordination of daily site activities
• Ensuring work is delivered in line with project specifications and programme requirements

The successful Substation Supervisor must have:

• Previous experience supervising HV substation projects (11kV-400kV)
• SSSTS
• EUSR Utility SHEA Power
• Fire Marshal Certificate
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within the power sector

Additional Information:

• £53.00 per day lodge allowance available for eligible candidates
• 60-day contract
