Job summary

Trinity Claims seeks an experienced Subsidence Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of household subsidence and ground movement claims from first notification to settlement. You will be the single point of contact for customers, balancing technical accuracy with indemnity spend and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience handling household insurance claims, subsidence/ground movement.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of policy interpretation and household insurance principles.
• Ability to review and interpret technical reports and supporting evidence.
• Experience managing an end-to-end claim portfolio.
• Ability to make balanced commercial decisions using sound judgement.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage long lifecycle claims.

Responsibilities

• Manage an end-to-end portfolio of Ground Movement claims to meet service standards.
• Assess coverage, validate evidence and apply policy terms for liability and entitlement.
• Review geological, drainage, arboricultural reports to determine damage and outcomes.
• Instruct and manage suppliers such as engineers, surveyors and contractors.
• Maintain claim reserves, authorise payments within authority.
• Negotiate settlements balancing customer outcomes and cost control.
• Identify potential fraud and refer concerns to Counter Fraud Team.
• Ensure progress through proactive diary management and regular reviews.
• Deliver empathetic service and clear updates throughout the journey.
• Respond to inquiries within service levels and escalate appropriately.
