Job summary

BAE Systems at Glascoed is seeking a Subcontract Manager to drive procurement interventions for product introductions within the Munitions line of Digital Intelligence & Land. You will plan, deliver, and deploy procurement solutions, working with a procurement team to support business aims.

The role requires experience in product introduction and subcontract management, with a focus on supplier transitions, validation, and risk mitigation within a complex production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in product introduction.
• Experience of successfully managing a sub contract package.
• Good project management skills across the project lifecycle.
• Good product awareness, commercial acumen, financial awareness, risk and opportunity management.
• Good understanding of external environment and relevant market intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex product introduction projects with significant value to the organisation.
• Manage supplier transitions and implement timelines for production readiness.
• Oversee validation activities for new components and supplier changes.
• Validate supplier production capability, capacity checks, and run-at-rate tests.
• Identify risks related to supplier transitions.
• Create and implement a procurement process for production introduction.
• Develop supplier relationships with ethics and corporate responsibility.
• Support procurement strategy and governance improvements.
• Collaborate with procurement quality teams and IDTs.
• Demonstrate understanding of company systems and risk tools.
• Lead cross-functional teams and deliver business requirements.
• Utilize KPI tools to monitor supplier performance and drive improvements.
• Encourage collaboration and innovation.
• Enable open communication with suppliers.
• Manage and develop teams.
• Be seen as subject expert for product introduction.
