Job summary

Randstad Delivery is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to lead a dedicated section of works near Peterhead. You will supervise a team of Section Engineers and Site Engineers, taking full ownership of engineering delivery, safety, quality, and subcontractor management.

The role requires a CSCS card, SSSTS/SMSTS, and a full UK driving license, with a focus on delivering major civil infrastructure projects and maintaining RAMS. On-site leadership and zero-harm safety culture are essential.

Qualifications

• Essential Qualifications: Valid CSCS Card, SSSTS or SMSTS, and a full UK driving license.
• Technical & Management Experience: Strong background leading engineering teams on major civil infrastructure projects (e.g., Earthworks, Drainage, Pavement, Comms, Structures, or Roadworks).
• H&S & Quality Expertise: Good working knowledge of current H&S legislation, incident investigation processes, RAMS creation, and handover certification.
• Planning & Commercial Skills: Proven ability to create fully resourced stage programmes, track production KPIs, monitor section budgets, and manage subcontractors.
• Desirable: Professional accreditation (e.g., ICE or IHT).

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Safety: Lead site safety with a Zero Harm focus, manage and coach engineers, and review/improve RAMS, permits (including Confined Space & Hot Works), and temporary works implementations.
• Incident & Safety Management: Lead accident/incident investigations, conduct site/field audits, and carry out trend analysis to drive continuous safety improvements.
• Engineering Control & Quality: Guide engineering staff on complex setting out, oversee technical problem solving, manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), and take ownership of handover documentation (Green Files).
• Planning & Productivity: Produce fully resourced stage programmes, track KPIs, establish graphical progress monitors, and ensure alignment between section and short-term lookahead schedules.
• Commercial & Subcontractor Management: Maintain detailed site diaries, manage subcontractor performance/procurement, monitor weekly costs against section budgets, and draft formal commercial correspondence.
