Job summary

BBC Studioworks is hiring a Studio Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance and readiness of broadcast systems across London studios. You will maintain, rig, troubleshoot and operate cameras, routers, mixers and communications systems while supporting production teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong technical expertise, flexibility and the ability to deliver under pressure, with opportunities to work across Elstree and White City facilities and contribute to flagship

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications, training, or demonstrable experience in broadcast engineering within a television studio or live production environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of broadcast systems including cameras, routers, vision and audio mixers, sound desks and communications systems.
• Experience with a variety of broadcast technologies and software platforms and ability to adapt to new workflows.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, align, modify and troubleshoot broadcast equipment and systems to meet production requirements.
• Collaborate with production teams to plan technical solutions and deliver programme requirements.
• Monitor and maintain technical standards across sound, vision and data signal paths to minimize disruption.
• Drive technical innovation by developing, testing and implementing new equipment and workflows.
• Rig, configure and operate broadcast equipment including recorders, servers, cameras and monitoring facilities.
• Lead or support equipment installations, refurbishments and fault resolution, coordinating with contractors and manufacturers.
• Train and supervise junior staff, ensuring health and safety compliance and proper documentation.
