Job summary

Bauer Media Audio, based at The Lantern in London, is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to support its London broadcast technology estate and connected operations across the UK. You will troubleshoot, maintain and optimize Audio-over-IP and playout systems while collaborating with content, production and tech teams.

The role offers hybrid working from The Lantern with on-call duties and opportunities to work across major radio brands and live events, festivals and Outside Broadcasts.

Qualifications

• Experience in broadcast engineering, media technology or similar technical environment.
• Strong understanding of audio signal flow and broadcast workflows.
• Experience with Audio-over-IP technologies such as AES67 and Axia.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and resolving studio and broadcast faults quickly to minimise disruption to live services.
• Maintaining studio audio systems, including microphones, mixing consoles, routing, monitoring and talkback.
• Supporting digital playout, automation, scheduling and logging platforms.
• Assisting with studio video systems, including video-over-IP and streaming.
• Collaborating with presenters, producers, journalists and content teams to provide technical support.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance, testing and system health checks.
• Producing and maintaining technical documentation and procedures.
• Supporting resilience, continuity and disaster recovery initiatives across broadcast systems.
