Job summary

The Stephen Longfellow Academy is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to join our pastoral team. You will work closely with the Head of Year and Assistant Principal to support day-to-day management of a year group and provide high-quality pastoral care to students and families.

You will lead targeted interventions, contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes, and liaise with external agencies to ensure every student is safe, engaged and able to achieve their full potential.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade 5+/C+ or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Knowledge of children and young people's development, safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
• Experience of supporting students to improve behaviour, engagement and achievement.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pastoral care to students and families.
• Lead targeted interventions to support individual and group needs.
• Support safeguarding and child protection processes in line with policy.
• Collaborate with the Head of Year, Assistant Principal and external agencies to safeguard students.
