King Edward VI School in Lichfield is seeking a Part-time Pastoral Support Assistant to join our Student Support Team. The role is 22 hours per week (Wed, Thu, Fri) during term time plus 6 additional days, supporting pupils and helping create a safe, inclusive environment.

You will build positive relationships, support individuals and groups with social, emotional and behavioural needs, and coordinate with parents and external agencies as part of a committed team.

Formación

• Recent experience working directly with young people in an educational setting.
• Ability to build positive relationships quickly and effectively.
• Calm, empathetic and solution-focused.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Committed to inclusion, safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• Experience in pastoral support, behaviour support, mentoring or SEND roles is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Building positive and supportive relationships with students.
• Providing pastoral support to individual students and small groups.
• Supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Promoting positive attitudes towards learning, attendance and behaviour.
• Working closely with parents, carers and external agencies.
• Supporting early intervention strategies to prevent barriers to learning from escalating.
• Contributing to safeguarding and student wellbeing initiatives.
• Helping students develop confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging within the school community.
