Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer for a full-time role in Redditch. The position focuses on student wellbeing, attendance and behaviour, working with the Head of Year and pastoral staff to support learners across the school.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Learning Mentor or similar role, strong behavioural management, and a commitment to safeguarding. The role offers a daily rate of £120–£170 and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Learning Mentor, Behaviour Specialist, Pastoral Support Worker, or Student Support Officer roles.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, ADHD, or Autism is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to motivate, mentor and inspire young people.
• Calm, resilient and proactive approach to supporting challenging behaviour.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support to students across the school.
• Support student wellbeing, attendance and behaviour with the Head of Year team.
• Assist within the Behaviour Hub to re-engage students with learning.
• Deliver 1:1 and small group mentoring focused on behaviour and personal development.
• Implement behaviour strategies and promote positive attitudes to learning.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers and staff.
• Support students with social, emotional or behavioural difficulties.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to pastoral meetings.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures.
