Job summary

The King Alfred School is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to work with pastoral leads and Heads of Year, helping to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students.

You will respond to student concerns, support attendance and wellbeing, communicate with families, and maintain confidential records. A supportive, patient approach and safeguarding knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• A good standard of education (including Maths and English).
• Strong IT proficiency in databases and general software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and responding to student-centred concerns throughout the day.
• Maintaining a visible presence to support classroom environments.
• Communicating with parents, carers and external agencies to support student wellbeing.
• Maintaining confidential records and attending intervention meetings.
