Job summary

Herefordshire & Ludlow College is seeking a Wellbeing & Pastoral Mentor to join the Safeguarding Team. You will manage a caseload, provide tailored wellbeing support and build trusting relationships to help students overcome challenges.

You will work with the Head of Safeguarding & Student Wellbeing, curriculum teams and external agencies to promote wellbeing, safeguarding and inclusion while supporting attendance and retention.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral care, mentoring, wellbeing, safeguarding or welfare support.
• Ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues and external agencies.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of students, providing tailored wellbeing and pastoral support.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that empower students to overcome personal and educational challenges.
• Work closely with the Head of Safeguarding & Student Wellbeing, curriculum teams and external partner agencies.
• Support students to improve their health, wellbeing, attendance and retention.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, inclusion and the Prevent Duty across the college.
