Job summary

The Hadley Learning Community - Secondary Phase is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support role to promote wellbeing, attendance and positive behaviours. You will provide pastoral support, mentor students and help manage behaviour incidents to support a safe and inclusive school environment.

You will work closely with families, staff and external agencies to improve outcomes, ensure safeguarding processes are followed and help create an atmosphere where every student can succeed and engage with

• Experience working with young people
• Understanding of safeguarding practices is advantageous

Job description

The successful candidate will work closely with students, families, staff and external agencies to promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, punctuality and wellbeing. The role will involve providing pastoral support, mentoring students, managing behaviour incidents, supporting safeguarding processes and helping to create an environment in which all students can succeed.

You will be a visible presence around school, building positive relationships with students whilst maintaining high expectations. The postholder will support students experiencing difficulties, work alongside parents and carers to improve outcomes, and help ensure that all students engage positively with school life.

The role requires excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to remain calm and effective when dealing with challenging situations. Experience of working with young people and a strong understanding of behaviour management, attendance and safeguarding practices would be advantageous.
