Job summary

Hadley Learning Community (Secondary) is seeking a Student Support Manager on maternity cover to lead pastoral support, mentoring and safeguarding across the secondary phase. This role is Scale 6 (points 18-22), 37 hours Term Time + 5 PD Days, with a start date of 1 December 2026.

You will work with students, families and staff to promote behaviour, attendance and wellbeing, building positive relationships while supporting safeguarding processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to promote high standards of behaviour and attendance.
• Experience with safeguarding processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support and mentoring to students.
• Manage behaviour incidents and support safeguarding processes.
• Collaborate with families, staff and external agencies to promote wellbeing.
• Support students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve potential.
