Job summary

Bath College seeks an Admissions Assistant on a permanent contract to enhance its Student Services. The role involves customer interaction, providing guidance on courses and financial information, and supporting students through the enrolment process. Under the direction of the Student Services Manager, the post holder will assist in providing an effective Admissions, Student Bursary, and Information Advice and Guidance Service across both campuses within Student Services. Key Responsibilities
  • Greet enquirers and respond to personal, telephone, email, and written enquiries; elicit their needs and offer information, advice, guidance, and enrolment support in line with exceptional customer service.
  • Sign visitors into the college system and inform staff of their arrival.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance on available courses, course fees, funding options, payment methods, course locations, and timetables.
  • Assist students in completing enrolment, application, and bursary forms, and provide information on procedures.
  • Assist with daily receipt and input of enrolments, record keeping, and payments in accordance with college financial regulations.
  • Assist in processing student course and trip payments.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent, including English Language and Maths.
  • Experience of first-line customer service, handling enquiries face-to-face, by telephone, and email.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
  • Experience achieving performance targets and meeting strict deadlines.
