Job summary

Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College in Northwich invites applications for a Progress Mentor Manager. The role oversees the operational delivery of the Progress Mentor provision, with a focus on achievement, attendance and student welfare, and requires onsite presence from GCSE results day to mid-July.

The post is permanent, full-time (37 hours per week, term time plus two weeks), reporting to the Head of Achievement and Support, with a Sept 2026 start date.

Qualifications

• Educated to A-Level standard.
• Experience of working with children.
• Ability to guide and inspire a team to achieve their goals.
• Strong performance management with an ability to drive KPIs.
• Effective ICT skills to support student learning.
• Knowledge of safeguarding children requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the operational management, development and quality of the College’s Progress Mentor provision.
• Use data effectively to raise standards in achievement, attendance and welfare of students.
• Onsite attendance from the start of the academic year on GCSE results day and ending mid-July.
