Job summary

Sir John Deane's Sixth Form College is recruiting a Progress Mentor Manager to oversee the Progress Mentor provision and drive standards across achievement and welfare. The role emphasizes data-led improvements, safeguarding, and strong team leadership.

You will work onsite throughout the academic year, contributing to a supportive learning environment and ensuring the college’s values of excellence, belonging and partnership are upheld.

Qualifications

  • Educated to A-Level standard.
  • Experience of working with children.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to guide and inspire a team to achieve goals.
  • Strong performance management to drive KPIs.
  • ICT skills to support student learning.
  • Understanding of student needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding guidance and requirements.
  • Energetic and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and priorities.
  • Commitment to delivering the best outcomes for students and supporting college ethos.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operational management, development and quality of the Progress Mentor provision.
  • Use data to raise achievement, attendance, equality and welfare while closing achievement gaps.
  • Role requires onsite attendance from September 2026 across the academic year.
