Job summary

TLTP Education is supporting a Dunstable-area secondary school to recruit an Attendance Officer. The role focuses on promoting good attendance, monitoring absence patterns and reporting to senior staff, with collaboration from students, parents and carers.

You will maintain electronic registers, follow up unexplained absences, analyse attendance data and support interventions, while safeguarding confidentiality and working with pastoral teams and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a secondary school setting is essential.
• Ability to maintain accurate attendance records and manage data.
• Proven communication with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electronic attendance registers and student records.
• Follow up unexplained absences and lateness with carers.
• Monitor attendance data and produce reports for leaders.
• Identify students at risk of persistent absence and support interventions.
• Coordinate attendance meetings and track impact of interventions.
• Liaise with pastoral teams and external partners as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
