Job summary

TLTP Education is partnering with a secondary school in the Dunstable area to recruit an Attendance Officer dedicated to improving student attendance and engagement. The role involves maintaining attendance records, following up absences, and supporting families to remove barriers to regular schooling.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting attendance in a school or educational setting.
• Ability to analyse attendance data and identify patterns.
• Proven communication with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate electronic attendance registers and student records.
• Follow up unexplained absences, lateness and truancy with parents and carers.
• Monitor attendance data and produce reports for senior leaders.
• Identify students at risk of persistent absence and support interventions.
• Build relationships with students, parents and carers to improve attendance.
• Coordinate attendance meetings and track impact of interventions.
• Liaise with pastoral teams, senior leaders and external agencies as required.
• Maintain records of communications and attendance concerns.
• Support attendance procedures in line with school policies and statutory guidance.
• Handle sensitive information professionally and maintain confidentiality.
