Marchant Recruitment is assisting a local school in Rushden to recruit an Attendance and Welfare Officer. The role focuses on monitoring attendance and punctuality, supporting student welfare, and working with families to remove barriers to learning.

You will maintain accurate records, coordinate interventions, liaise with safeguarding leads, and promote a positive attendance culture within a collaborative pastoral team.

Qualifications

• Experience in attendance administration or student welfare.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Confident with safeguarding, confidentiality, and record-keeping.

Responsabilités

• Monitor daily attendance and punctuality, identifying patterns of absence and persistent lateness.
• Contact parents about unexplained absences and attendance concerns.
• Maintain attendance records and prepare reports for pastoral teams and senior leadership.
• Work with students and families to identify barriers and agree on appropriate support strategies.
• Support attendance meetings, welfare checks, and follow-up actions in line with school procedures.
• Liaise with safeguarding leads, pastoral staff, and external agencies where further intervention is required.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure all records are accurate, up to date, and handled appropriately.
• Promote a positive attendance culture and encourage consistent student engagement.
