Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a school in Winnall to recruit an Attendance Officer for an immediate start. The role focuses on monitoring attendance, managing punctuality, and coordinating with pastoral staff and parents to remove barriers to regular schooling.

You will maintain accurate attendance records, generate insights for senior leaders, and support safeguarding and student intervention initiatives in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration or attendance monitoring is preferred.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail are essential.
• Strong communication with students, parents and staff.
• Proficient IT skills and ability to manage databases and reports.
• Confidentiality and safeguarding awareness are required.
• A valid right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily pupil attendance, punctuality and absence records.
• Contact parents and carers about unexplained absences and lateness.
• Identify patterns and work with pastoral leaders to target support.
• Maintain attendance databases and prepare regular reports for SLT.
• Support attendance meetings and student intervention programs.
• Collaborate with safeguarding and pastoral teams to support vulnerable pupils.
• Maintain confidentiality and align procedures with policy and guidance.
