Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is partnered with a well-regarded school in Saffron Walden to recruit an Attendance Officer. The role focuses on monitoring attendance, managing punctuality, and supporting pupils to remove barriers to regular schooling.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, pastoral staff, parents and external agencies, deploying data-driven strategies to improve attendance and wellbeing within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration or attendance monitoring in a school setting.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Confidential and professional approach to safeguarding.
• Proficient IT skills including database use and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pupil attendance, punctuality, and absence records.
• Contact parents/carers about unexplained absences and lateness.
• Identify patterns and collaborate to implement support strategies.
• Maintain attendance databases and generate regular reports.
• Support attendance meetings and student interventions.
• Work with safeguarding and pastoral teams to support vulnerable pupils.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies.
