Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Estimator for structural steel with a strong grasp of drawings and tendering. You will assess enquiries, develop viable estimates and work with clients and internal teams to price projects competitively.

Role focuses on front-end estimating, reviewing drawings, quantities and requirements, and ensuring accurate tender submissions across a varied project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an estimating role.
• Experience within structural steel, steel fabrication, construction or a related industry.
• A practical understanding of the estimating and tendering process.
• The ability to interpret detailed technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to manage a varied workload and multiple deadlines.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• A relevant technical or engineering qualification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing incoming enquiries and reviewing opportunities for commercial viability.
• Working from detailed drawings, specifications and project information.
• Preparing accurate and detailed estimates for clients.
• Reviewing quantities, materials, labour and other project requirements.
• Supporting the preparation and submission of tenders.
• Liaising with clients throughout the estimating and tender process.
• Working closely with Design, Contracts, Production and other internal departments.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
• Supporting the development of new client relationships and business opportunities.
• Managing multiple enquiries and tenders while working to tight deadlines.
• Ensuring estimates are commercially competitive while remaining achievable.
• Providing clear and accurate information to support successful project delivery.
