Job summary

Amey Consulting in York is seeking a permanent Structural Engineer to join the team. You will contribute to large civil engineering projects across the UK, delivering designs and documentation while coordinating with clients, suppliers and internal teams.

The role requires ownership of technical delivery, collaboration with multi-discipline teams, and ongoing professional development towards Incorporated or Chartered status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning.
• Experience in structures engineering, likely at an Assistant Engineer level.
• Ability to produce technically sound engineering solutions complying with DM RB and Eurocodes.
• Good working knowledge of CDM and risk assessment.
• Experience managing hazards and risks on projects.

Responsibilities

• Producing technically sound engineering solutions.
• Taking ownership of the management and technical delivery of projects from start to finish.
• Preparation of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Supporting and guiding more junior staff undertaking similar tasks.
• Engaging with client and supplier representatives at peer level.
