Job summary

Mott MacDonald’s Street Lighting team in the UK is looking for a skilled lighting engineer to contribute to national transport projects. You will develop lighting and electrical designs, conduct site surveys, and build trusted client relationships within a collaborative environment.

You will work across lighting, electrical design and environmental assessment, with hybrid working options and clear opportunities for long-term career progression.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and proactive with ability to manage workload and deliver high-quality outputs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with clients and teams.
• Conversant with lighting design software, particularly Lighting Reality.
• Experience or practical knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of relevant standards (DMRB/BS EN 13201/BS7671) and ILP guidance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality lighting and electrical designs, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Undertake site surveys to inform design development and nighttime lighting assessments.
• Maintain technical credibility and client relationships to support successful projects.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure coordinated design solutions.
