Job summary

KPMG Ireland is seeking an ambitious Turnaround & Restructuring Manager/Associate Director to lead complex engagements across the UK&I. You will manage client relationships, mentor teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary workstreams in high-pressure environments.

The role offers a hybrid Belfast-based work arrangement, with opportunities to shape engagements for lenders, investors and corporates while advancing business development and internal risk processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in restructuring, corporate recovery, insolvency or related advisory fields.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Experience supporting or leading financial restructuring engagements, including options assessments, independent business reviews (IBRs), and stakeholder-led restructuring processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders under pressure.
• Excellent drive, commitment and enthusiasm, combined with strong project management discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of restructuring, insolvency and turnaround engagements from inception through to completion.
• Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, lenders, legal advisers, management teams and other key stakeholders.
• Manage complex formal insolvency appointments, including administrations, receiverships, liquidations and bankruptcies.
• Lead financial and operational reviews, business viability assessments and options analyses to support stakeholder decision-making.
• Prepare and review reports, stakeholder communications, statutory documentation and other key deliverables to a high standard.
• Identify and proactively manage engagement risks, issues and stakeholder sensitivities.
• Support businesses evaluating restructuring, refinancing and turnaround options.
• Ensure assignments are delivered in accordance with professional standards and internal risk procedures.
