Job summary

AECOM is looking for a Principal Planner to join our London Aldgate Tower offices with flexible hybrid options. You will manage a growing workload, lead the town planning team, and deliver policy projects for local authorities and clients across the UK.

Based in London with opportunities across multiple locations, you will lead on strategy, client engagement, project delivery, and business development, ensuring quality and budgets while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading planning policy and strategy projects.
• Strong client relation skills and teamwork.
• Existing relationships with clients and local authorities.
• Ability to develop business opportunities and win work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the town planning team and develop staff.
• Lead planning policy projects and advise clients and internal teams.
• Represent the organisation to clients and authorities and attend conferences.
• Coordinate projects to ensure on-budget, on-schedule delivery.
• Oversee quality assurance and safety in project outputs.
• Support business development and tender preparation.
