Job summary

WSP is seeking a Technical Director Geotechnical Engineer to join our Glasgow team. You will provide technical leadership on major geotechnical programmes across the UK and internationally, setting standards and driving best practice while engaging key clients and stakeholders.

You will lead multi-location teams, develop long-term client strategies and push technical innovation in sustainability and digital delivery. Chartered status and strong industry involvement are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading complex geotechnical programmes with high-profile projects.
• Deep expertise in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology or ground engineering.
• Proven governance, assurance and strategic direction across projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for major geotechnical programmes in the UK and beyond.
• Set technical standards, drive best practice and advise on complex engineering problems.
• Govern projects with high quality, risk management and professional excellence.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, industry bodies and stakeholders.
• Lead long-term client strategies and pursue major opportunities and frameworks.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams across locations, aligning resources with needs.
