Job summary

WSP is seeking a Technical Director in the UK to lead structural engineering services for major energy infrastructure projects. The role focuses on delivering transmission and distribution networks, substations, and other critical assets, while maintaining strong client relationships and driving technical excellence.

You will mentor teams, shape project planning, manage risk, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with a relevant professional body.
• Significant experience in structural engineering design and project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the structural design and delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects.
• Provide strategic input into project planning, resourcing, and risk management.
• Deliver structural solutions for substations, transmission and distribution facilities, OHL structures, and power stations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Contribute to business development, including bids, proposals, and client presentations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and sustainable design solutions.
• Support the development of best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
