Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Senior Roads Advisor (Scope and Standards) to influence the future development and management of roads and infrastructure services across the area.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will guide design advisory services, manage budgets, and lead policy and improvement initiatives while coordinating with partners and stakeholders to deliver excellent services for residents and businesses.

Qualifications

• Qualified civil engineering professional with substantial roads/transportation experience.
• Experience delivering contracts, procurement and compliance with technical specs.
• Knowledge of roads legislation, standards and codes of practice.
• Experience with budgeting, financial monitoring and audit processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional engineering and legislative advice on roads and transportation.
• Lead development and implementation of policies, standards and initiatives.
• Manage contracts, consultants and contractors for quality service.
• Contribute to strategic asset management planning and investment programs.
• Collaborate with internal/external partners to maximise community benefits.
• Support organisational change and continuous improvement.
