Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate/Associate Director to join the Roads team in Belfast, providing technical leadership and guiding design teams to deliver highway schemes to scope, on time and within budget.

You will oversee multi-disciplinary projects, mentor colleagues, develop client relationships, and contribute to business development. The role requires Chartered Civil Engineer or IEng with extensive post-qualification experience and familiarity with design codes.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering highway or major civil engineering projects.
• Experience leading design teams and mentoring junior staff.
• Strong client-facing and business development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to design teams and ensure quality on time and budget.
• Lead multi-disciplinary projects, manage budgets and financial performance.
• Develop trusted client relationships and proactively manage expectations.
• Review and check deliverables, coordinating with Roads and wider Transport teams.
• Coordinate resources and assign roles to maximize project performance.
• Prepare tender packages and supervise design drawings and contract docs.
