Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is looking for a Technical Manager - Civil Engineer (Roads & Infrastructure) to join its Edinburgh team. This senior role delivers major roads and development projects, shaping technical direction and team growth.

You will oversee design quality, coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, and ensure robust, compliant solutions while supporting bids and business development.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered status preferred (CEng/MICE or equivalent).
• Significant consultancy experience with civil projects.
• Experience delivering roads/infrastructure schemes.
• Knowledge of UK standards (DMRB, MCHW) and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior technical authority in Roads & Infrastructure.
• Lead design across highways, drainage, earthworks, infrastructure.
• Provide oversight on feasibility studies and detailed design.
• Coordinate inputs from geotechnical, environmental, structural teams.
• Mentor engineers and support professional development.
• Engage with clients, contractors and statutory bodies.
