Job summary

The Growth Company’s Business Growth Hub in Manchester is seeking a Procurement and Supply Chain Development Manager to shape procurement practice and strengthen the procurement capability of Greater Manchester businesses. The role combines strategic procurement with external stakeholder engagement, leading internal activity, supplier engagement, contract governance and value delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant procurement, supply chain or commercial management experience.
• Proven track record of delivering procurement benefits and commercial value.
• Experienced in advisory, consultancy or business support roles.
• Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activity across GM Business Growth Hub, including planning, tender delivery, supplier engagement and contract award.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies delivering value for money and governance.
• Provide procurement, commercial and contract management advice to managers.
• Manage supplier relationships and contract performance for improvements and cost efficiencies.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies, governance and legislation.
• Embed social value and sustainable procurement throughout processes.
• Support GM businesses to access procurement opportunities, including tenders and bids.
• Diagnose procurement challenges and develop action plans for improvement.
