Job summary

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is seeking a senior procurement leader to own sourcing categories and drive value across the organisation. You will work with senior stakeholders and operational teams to shape requirements and secure sustainable value.

You will lead complex sourcing activity, develop a commodity-management methodology and build strong supplier relationships across high-profile transport projects. Hybrid working and a public-sector focus are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting procurement for large or complex organisations.
• Senior-level experience with reporting on activity, outcomes and savings.
• Knowledge of procurement methodologies and supplier-management techniques.
• Track record of developing and implementing procurement policies and category strategies.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own sourcing categories and lead complex procurement from market assessment to contract outcome.
• Develop and implement a commodity-management methodology across TfGM.
• Create and maintain a spend map with current and future expenditure and savings opportunities.
• Deliver measurable savings and improvements in supplier performance and value for money.
• Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals.
• Provide credible procurement advice to senior stakeholders and project teams.
