Job summary

MPM Products Limited in Manchester is seeking an experienced procurement professional to actively manage its supplier network, drive cost savings and ensure alignment with ESG targets. Qualifications

• FMCG experience in procurement within a fast-moving consumer goods environment.
• Proven track record leading complex commercial negotiations and achieving measurable annual cost-saving targets.
• Experience managing end-to-end supplier onboarding, implementing KPIs/scorecards, and chairing structured cross-functional reviews.
• Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external.
• Practical experience mapping supply chain risks and implementing dual-sourcing strategies.
• Experience partnering with Innovation/R&D teams to bring NPD projects to market rapidly and smoothly.
• Strong ability to track global commodity markets and manage cost-efficiency frameworks.
• Numerate with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to manage numerous projects and prioritise to business needs.
• Willing to travel for on-site supplier visits.
• Strong Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Database skills; knowledge of AI in procurement.
• Procurement experience in the pet food sector.
• Experience sourcing from Far East suppliers and factories.
• MCIPS status or actively working towards it.
• Experience aligning supplier base with ESG frameworks and carbon-reduction targets.

Responsibilities

• Manage changes to suppliers and products, and assist with supplier onboarding;
• Build long-term supplier partnerships aligned to business strategy;
• Own supplier relationships, chair frequent supplier update meetings with cross-functional teams;
• Manage supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards and structured reviews;
• Identify supply chain risks with suppliers and develop contingency/dual-source options;
• Collaborate with supply chain & operations teams;
• Frequent visits to suppliers;
• Lead commercial negotiations on price, service levels, quality and contracts;
• Deliver annual cost savings ahead of budget;
• Understand and track commodity markets;
• Manage tasks in the Stage & Gate process to deliver NPD/EPD projects on time;
• Drive supplier innovation with Innovation team to launch NPD at pace;
• Work with Technical team to deliver products to specification;
• Attend trade shows and conferences;
• Ensure suppliers align to MPM ESG requirements.
