Job summary

AXA Retail is seeking a Principal Pricing Analyst in the UK to own pricing performance for key portfolios and lead market pricing initiatives. You will shape pricing strategy with analytics, influence stakeholders and mentor analysts while collaborating with ML Operations and Data Science to embed new pricing capabilities.

The role combines leadership with hands-on modelling and pricing design in a fast-paced environment, with hybrid work arrangements and opportunities for career progression

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of insurance pricing methodologies and market pricing models.
• Experience leading complex pricing projects and translating insights into commercial outcomes.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or developing others.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Python, R or similar analytical tools.
• Degree (2:1 or higher) in a mathematics-related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of pricing performance for a portfolio or strategic initiative and drive growth.
• Develop market pricing proposals through analysis of customer behaviour, demand, competitor activity, market positioning and financial performance.
• Lead complex pricing initiatives from concept through implementation, monitoring performance and optimisation opportunities.
• Build, enhance and maintain market pricing models that support commercial decision making.
• Review and challenge risk models to ensure alignment with pricing strategy.
• Present evidence-based pricing recommendations to stakeholders for sound commercial decisions.
• Support development of new products and strategic pricing initiatives through analysis and performance monitoring.
• Coach and develop analysts, providing line management for at least one team member.
• Partner with ML Operations and Data Science to embed pricing capabilities and tooling.
• Champion customer-first pricing and continuous improvement across methodologies.
