Job summary

AXA UK is seeking a Principal Pricing Analyst to own pricing performance for strategic initiatives and lead pricing analytics initiatives. You will develop market pricing proposals, build pricing models and mentor analysts while coordinating with ML and Data Science teams to embed new capabilities.

The role combines leadership with technical excellence, aiming to shape pricing strategy across products in a dynamic insurance environment, while balancing customer value and profitability.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of insurance pricing methodologies and market pricing models.
• Experience leading pricing projects and translating analytics into commercial outcomes.
• Experience owning pricing performance for a product or business area.
• Experience coaching or developing others.
• Stakeholder management with ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in Python, R or similar analytical tools.
• Good understanding of statistical modelling in insurance pricing.
• Excellent communication to translate analytics into commercially focused recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of pricing performance for a portfolio or strategic initiative to drive profitable growth.
• Develop market pricing proposals through analysis of customer behaviour, demand, competitor activity and financial performance.
• Lead complex pricing initiatives from concept through implementation and continuous optimisation.
• Build and maintain market pricing models supporting commercial decision making.
• Review and challenge risk models to align with pricing strategy.
• Make evidence-based pricing recommendations and influence stakeholders.
• Support development of new products and strategic pricing initiatives through analysis and monitoring.
• Coach and develop analysts with mentoring and day-to-day support; provide line management for at least one team member.
• Partner with ML Operations and Data Science to embed pricing capabilities and tooling.
• Champion customer-first pricing and fair value in pricing decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement across methodologies, governance and ways of working.
