Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking a Manufacturing Investment Project Manager to lead multi-million‑pound capital investment projects in one of the UK's most advanced engineering environments. You will develop business cases, secure funding and guide cross‑functional teams from concept to commissioning.

The role spans Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to identify improvement opportunities and deliver projects that increase capacity and efficiency for future growth.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience delivering manufacturing, industrial or capital investment projects.
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and process improvement knowledge.
• Experience developing business cases and managing project budgets.
• Excellent stakeholder management and project leadership skills.
• Experience in regulated environments such as aerospace, defence, automotive, FMCG, medical devices or pharmaceuticals is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing capital investment projects from concept through to delivery.
• Develop business cases, cost models and ROI justifications for new equipment and production improvements.
• Conduct capacity planning and identify manufacturing bottlenecks.
• Specify, procure and commission new manufacturing equipment and production systems.
• Manage project budgets, timelines and delivery risks.
• Support new product introduction by providing manufacturing cost estimates and production planning inputs.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and manage external suppliers throughout project delivery.
