Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an innovative tech and engineering organisation operating within the UK defence space. You'll play a key role in improving how complex electronic and electro-mechanical products are assembled, tested and delivered.

This hands-on Continuous Improvement role suits someone who enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems and making measurable improvements across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma & Continuous Improvement.
• Green Belt or Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
• Experience leading manufacturing improvement projects and change.
• Strong knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly & testing.
• Experience troubleshooting product non-conformances.
• Practical knowledge of 8D, RCA, DMAIC, PSP, PFMEA & 5S.
• Experience with automated/manual measurement and test equipment.
• Familiarity with MRP systems (IFS would be advantageous).
• A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Drive Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity, cost, lead times and quality.
• Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, RCA, DMAIC and PSP.
• Identify and deliver Lean / CI projects from concept through to implementation.
• Implement and improve PFMEA, 5S and Asset Care programmes.
• Investigate and resolve product non-conformances.
• Support Production with electronics & hardware assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
• Identify manufacturing risks, issues and improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Project teams.
• Support Supply Chain improvement initiatives.
